Colt Course

The Colt Course is a 6 Hole, Par 3 Course with Synthetic Putting Surfaces and Tees.
This initiative by Northamptonshire County Golf Club, directed at introducing beginners and youngsters to golfing facilities was funded by major sponsorships from two sources.

• Sport England. This is the government agency responsible for developing a world-class community sports system and awards and allocates funds generated by the National Lottery.

• Barclays Bank, through their “Spaces for Sport” program.

The course was constructed by Southwest Greens of Georgia, USA to bring the look, feel and playability of natural greens, without the associated hassle and high costs of maintenance. Using quality construction techniques and professional design, Southwest Greens simulate natural bent grass and equal the quality associated with top natural turf putting greens. Southwest Greens has no equal in the world in the design and construction of synthetic putting greens and have installed practice greens for over 30 PGA pros., includingSergio Garcia, Vijay Singh and Jesper Parnevic - several celebrities including Samuel L Jackson, Justin Timberlake and Celine Dion, as well as over 9000 keen amateurs worldwide. When you practice on one of these greens, you will likely improve your putting stroke by being able to rely on consistent putts with a true roll from every position on the green. And being able to chip and pitch from any distance with confidence, knowing that the ball will stick and roll without having to repair pitch marks is something that amateurs and professionals alike appreciate.

The Colt Course is now open for Junior Membership.
This is a great way for younger, and more mature children, to become part of the Golf Club, to learn to play the game and to use the Club's extensive practice facilities. With the Championship Course taking time and being quite an intimidating place to start the Colt Course is fun, short and yet still a real challenge. The aim of the course is to create a relaxed and fun environment in which juniors can improve and enjoy their golf.

If you have a family member who is thinking about playing and joining our Club the Colt Course also offers a membership to adults. No handicap is required and it's the ideal environment to learn to play the game and use the Club's practice facilities.
Adult membership costs only £100 per annum.
